Relationships for care leavers

We will support you to develop and maintain positive relationships with your family and friends.  Your Pathway Plan will detail any specific individual support you will receive.  At aged 16, we will consider holding a meeting called a ‘Family Group Conference’ to involve significant adults in your life, in the process for planning for independence.  We will review the time you spend with your family and people that are important to you in accordance with your wishes and feelings, however we remain mindful of the need to keep you safe and any specific individual risks will need to be addressed.

As detailed in the ‘financial’ section of this document, we will support you to spend time with family and friends prior to you reaching 18 and post 18, we will consider contributing to the cost of transport where there is the need.  Specific details according to your individual needs will be detailed in your Pathway Plan.
